![]() ![]() I like going the SBS route because of Active Directory and better ability to setup file/folder permissions and printer sharing. ![]() So I'm down to WHS2011 or SBS 2011 Essentials. He probably makes $200k+ a year but he won't get his two secretaries their own personal emails because he doesn't want to pay the re-occurring cost. It could be something where I can try and convince the other company to throw in on the bill and setup two domains on the network to even segragate it more. I've worked with Server 2008 R2 before, but I think it's more than they need. Right now they hand off floppy disks to each other when something is updated so everyone has the same info (crazy right?). They mainly need a centralized storage location and some of their accounting software can be setup as a server. I've been contemplating whether to go with Home Server 2011 because of it's cheap cost and it basically does what they need. The other company just uses a machine with Window 7 Professional for file sharing and that's about it. There is "No" server for the one company. There is a HP Procurve 24 port 10/100 switch as well (capable of VLAN's). I have the ability to setup VLAN's on their E2000 (DD-WRT firmware installed) and separate the networks (which I plan on doing so). There is no VLAN's setup so they are all on the same subnet. They share an Internet connection right now with another company in the same office. I have a small client (2 full-time employees and 3 part-time employees) and they are in dire need for a network upgrade. ![]()
